In 2012, Greg founded OneWeb with the mission of enabling Internet access for everyone. Prior to OneWeb, in 2007 Greg founded O3b Networks, Ltd. O3b raised approximately 1.3bn USD to design and build a satellite constellation to provide fiber quality backhaul for telecom operators in the most remote markets around the world. Today, O3b has launched 12 satellites, which have attained individual link speeds in excess of 1gbps with only 130ms of latency. The system provides the highest capacity and lowest latency combination of any satellites built to date.
Chief Executive Officer
Eric Béranger is the CEO of OneWeb, where he is responsible for driving the company’s growth towards its goal of providing affordable Internet access for everyone. Prior to joining OneWeb, he worked as the Head of Operations & Quality, Space Systems within the Airbus Defence and Space division created in 2014.
Since starting his career in 1988, he has held management positions in engineering, operations and finance at France Telecom, Société Générale, and Matra Marconi Space (now Airbus Defence and Space). At the inception of EADS in 2000, he was appointed Senior Vice President Marketing for all space activities, and successfully led the negotiations of the Skynet 5-Paradigm secure satcoms PFI project with UK Ministry of Defence. He was subsequently nominated CEO of Astrium Services at its creation in 2003
Under his leadership, the company has grown its revenues and workforce more than 15 fold from 2003 to 2012 and achieved major successes with contracts including Skynet 5 (UK), Satcom BW (Germany), Yahsat (UAE), Passerel (France) and the acquisition of Vizada at the end of 2011.
In 2012 he became CEO of Astrium Satellites, and major milestones for earth observation satellites contracts were achieved. In 2014, as the head of Programs in the new organization “Airbus Defence and Space”, his contribution led to the award of the first electric commercial satellites contracts from SES and Eutelsat.
In 2006, he was awarded the prestigious Chevalier de la légion d’honneur for his accomplishments in developing space activities.
Born in 1963, Colonel in the public reserve of the French Air Force, he is a graduate engineer from the Ecole Polytechnique and Telecom Paris. Married with two children, his interests include flying -he holds a pilot's licence-, sports and science.
VP of Product Definition
Larry Alder is VP of Product Definition at OneWeb. His organizational responsibilities include the development of OneWeb’s user facing products including User Terminals. He is also currently the Co-Chair of the US Department of Congress’s Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC) and has been a member of the committee since 2011.
Dr Alder was Director of Access Strategy at Google from 2005-2016 where was responsible for a number of product, policy, and strategic investment activities promoting Internet access. Dr Alder started and led Google’s Project Link which brings a shared fiber infrastructure networks to multiple countries in Africa and has become an independent company CSquared. He was a leader in Google’s project to bring Wi-Fi to the India rail stations. Dr Alder led Google’s initial investment in O3b Networks, a global satellite service provider, and served on the board until its sale to SES in 2016. Prior to joining Google, Dr Alder spent 10 years at ArrayComm an early pioneering company in building MIMO wireless systems, where he served as vice president of technology development.
Dr Alder holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from Stanford University and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from UCLA.
Head of Human Resources and Facilities
Heidi S. Dillard is the Head of Human Resources and Facilities at OneWeb. She is responsible for leadership and oversight of the Human Resources and Facilities departments, including compensation, benefits, employee relations, talent acquisition, training and development, U.S. and international facilities development and maintenance.
Ms. Dillard has more than 20 years of professional experience. Prior to joining OneWeb, she was a Senior Director of Operations at the Common Application, a not-for-profit membership association that produces and maintains the world’s leading undergraduate college application tool for 731 member colleges and universities. In her role, she was responsible for the successful merger and acquisition of staff from the association’s technology vendor and transitioned the association staff from a virtual to brick-and-mortar workplace. Prior to the Common Application, Ms. Dillard held various roles at Human Capital Initiatives LLC, a boutique human capital consulting firm specializing in technology and was the Head of HR at NavigationArts, LLC a web-design and digital media consulting company.
Ms. Dillard also served as an active duty officer in the United States Army, where she led an organization designed to train, develop, and prepare soldiers from diverse backgrounds, demographics, and abilities to become future soldiers in the Army.
Ms. Dillard received an BS from the United States Military Academy and is a Senior Professional in Human Resources. In addition, she has been recognized for her volunteer efforts with military spouses and families. She also actively participates in a military spouse mentorship program.
VP of Finance and Business Operations
Steven Fay serves as OneWeb’s Vice President of Finance & Business Operations and is responsible for all Business Planning, Financial Analysis, Treasury, Corporate Development, and Accounting, as well as oversight for the Corporate IT, Partnerships, HR and Facilities operations of the company.
Prior to OneWeb, Steve was the Head of Business Operations for the LEO satellite program at Google. Prior to Google, he served as Senior Vice President of Finance, Treasury, & Systems for Catalyst Health Solutions, a Fortune 500 company. Before that, Steve spent 10 years with Sirius XM Satellite Radio serving as Vice President of Corporate Finance, Business Planning, and Decision Support where he drove growth from a start-up operation to over $3 billion in annual revenues. While at Sirius XM, he raised several billion in debt and equity financings and was a major participant in the merger and integration of XM and Sirius in 2008.
Steve has an undergraduate degree from Dickinson College and his M.B.A., with honors, from The George Washington University. In 2017, Steve was selected as a finalist for NVTC's CFO of the Year Award.
Chief Information Officer
Vikas Groveris the Chief Information Officer at OneWeb, where he is accountable for developing and operationalizing the company’s Terrestrial Networks, Platforms, Customer Services and Enterprise Security. Prior to OneWeb, he served Vodafone as the CIO and Chief Networks Officer in India, where he was accountable for annual $1Bn+ Capex spends. Over 9 years at Vodafone, Mr Grover established mega scale Networks and IT Systems to serve 200Mn+ customers and enterprises, served through a 1Mn+ Distribution network; resulting in market leadership for Vodafone in India.
Mr Grover has over 26 years of rich experiences spanning multiple industries and with Big 4 Consulting firms across Europe and India. He brings in business and technology insights for a variety of industry sectors such as Telecom, Retail, Financial Services, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Energy, Public Sector, Pvt. Equity and Venture Capitalists. Mr Grover led the Technology Strategy practice at Atos KPMG Consulting in the UK through strategic engagements covering IT Strategy, Shared Services, Digital integration, ERP transformation, M&A Advisory, OSS/BSS transformation. Before moving to the UK, Mr Grover led the implementation of first green-field GSM networks for Tata-Bell Canada JV and Hutchison. Earlier in his career with Siemens, he engineered fixed line Digital transformation for the Indian PTT and across several states in India.
Mr Grover holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from India’s first Telecom Engineering institute; he received his PG Certificate in Management from Glasgow University and is a PRINCE 2 Practitioner Certified from the UK.
Senior Vice President, Program Office
Suzi McBride is the Senior Vice President of OneWeb's Program Office, where she is responsible for the overall program to develop, construct, launch and operate the satellite constellation and ground system. Prior to joining OneWeb, she served as the Vice President of the Iridium Program Management Office (PMO) and Launch Services. In this position, she was part of the leadership team to develop the Iridium NEXT system where she led the PMO, launch strategy/engineering and hosted payloads for Iridium NEXT.
Mrs. McBride has spent more than 20 years in program management and engineering in the aerospace and telecommunication industries. Prior to joining Iridium, she held the position of Program Manager at General Dynamics (now Orbital ATK) where she managed NASA and U.S. Air Force satellite programs. Prior to joining General Dynamics, Mrs. McBride was a Program Director at Motorola. During her time at Motorola, she managed large new technology cellular system implementations in different locations around the world. She also worked for six years on the Iridium program at Motorola’s Satellite Communications Group as a senior engineer in satellite manufacturing and launch. Early in Mrs. McBride’s career, she worked for Price Waterhouse in New York City as a management consultant.
Mrs. McBride received her MBA from the University of Tennessee in the Executive Aerospace & Defense program and her dual undergraduate degrees, a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Columbia University and a B.A. in Management Engineering from Claremont McKenna College. She also holds a Master’s degree in Program Management from George Washington University and is PMI certified.
Chief Financial Officer
David Tolley is the Chief Financial Officer of OneWeb where he is responsible for leadership and oversight of the Finance Department, including accounting, corporate financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury and corporate development.
Mr. Tolley has more than 25 years of professional experience. Prior to joining OneWeb, he was a Senior Managing Director at Blackstone, one of the world’s leading investment firms. He was a member of the Private Equity Investment Committee and led the firm’s investments in satellite services, broadcasting and newspapers. While at Blackstone and among other transactions, Mr. Tolley led the purchase, further development and subsequent sale of NewSkies Satellites and served as Chairman of the Board. At Blackstone, he invested in transactions with a combined enterprise value of $13 billion and generated a cumulative IRR of 21%.
Prior to Blackstone, Mr. Tolley was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Division of Morgan Stanley. He was a member of the Communications Group, focusing on clients in telecommunications and media and during his tenure closed over 50 transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $28 billion.
Mr. Tolley received an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA from the University of Michigan. He is a Senior Advisor to Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, a Director of Extenet Systems, and a Director of the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum.
